FORMATION

Formation in the faith is an essential aspect in the life of a disciple of Christ, because faith is not a passive reality. St John Henry Newman says about Mary, that she “does not think it enough to accept [the faith], she dwells upon it; not enough to assent, she develops it.” Like our Blessed Mother, the faith we have accepted must grow through our formation. The more we know, the more we believe, and the more we believe, the more we know. “No one at all can love things unknown,” said St Augustine.
