BIBLE STUDY

Each year, a different book of the bible is selected for study. Meets on Thursdays at 9am during the academic year in the St. Agnes Center.

BOOK CLUB

This Holy Name book club meet the first Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM for dessert and discussion in rotating homes.

CHRIST IN THE CITY (HOMELESS OUTREACH)

Every Wednesday and the 2nd Saturday of each month, CIC missionaries host a Lunch in the Park, allowing volunteers to prepare and enjoy a meal with the homeless in downtown Denver. Holy Name sponsors a number of these lunches throughout the year. This is a great service opportunity for those of all ages, including families. Those who attend will spend time with the missionaries and their homeless friends, encountering them over a meal provided by Holy Name. You can volunteer at lunch, donate food for the meal, or donate funds.

CRAFT CLUB

Enjoy a fun creative evening every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm, members rotate leading the craft and bringing refreshments.

CREATIO (OUTDOOR OUTREACH)

DENVER CATHOLIC BIBLICAL SCHOOL (4-YR PROGRAM)

Holy Name is a host site for the Denver Catholic Biblical School! Class is Thursday at 9am in the St. Agnes Center (prior registration required). For over 35 years, the Biblical School has made God’s Word come alive for thousands across the archdiocese and the country. Whether you’ve been a long-time student of the Scriptures or are just a beginner, these classes will help you discover the timelessness of God’s Word and transform your life!

HEART OF THE KNIGHTS (LADIES AUXILIARY)

Any parishioner may join the Hearts of the Knights, a charitable organization. The Hearts assist the Knights of Columbus at various spiritual, social, and charitable events in the parish, host a lunch for Seniors two times a year and all monies collected from dues, and their yearly Dessert Auction and Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraisers go to charity. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of September, November, February and May at 6:30 pm in the St. Agnes Center.

HIGHLIGHT CATHOLIC MINISTRIES (YOUTH SPORTS)

Virtue and discipleship formation through sports leagues, summer camps, weekly clinics, and Catholic teams with several programs hosted right here at Sheridan Community Park adjacent to Holy Name.  For more information about programs for boys (Frassati Sports) and girls (Badano Sports) visit HighlightCatholic.org

HOMEBOUND AND NURSING HOME MINISTRY

The important service of being extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion makes possible for more than 125 homebound parishioners and Catholics in nursing homes to receive the Body of Christ.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Here at Holy Name, they host parish activities, support seminarians and sponsor various community projects. Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the St. Agnes Center.

KNIGHTS OF THE ALTAR

Serving at the altar is a great privilege! The altar servers work with and learn from Father and Deacon. Any boy (ages 8+) who has received his First Communion is eligible. Training is held periodically, but servers can join at any time, after studying a handbook and meeting/registering with the altar server coordinator.

Holy Name hosts several big events throughout the year and we rely on the support of many generous volunteers. The events team is a group we can call on to assist with events, and provide input as well as feedback.

PARISH MAPPING

In order to strengthen community, we want to offer parishioners the chance to learn which Holy Namers live closest to them. Groups have been established based on neighborhood and location. The hope is to offer the opportunity for the group to connect, grow in community and to serve one another. We won’t share your actual address, just the neighborhood you’re a part of and approximate locations within that. PRO-LIFE GROUP

This group prays for and supports the efforts of the Archdiocese to promote the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death.

RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS)

If you are not Catholic but interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, if you have not received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation, or if you have been away from the Church for a long time and want to come back consider joining us for RCIA. Participants are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices. It is a journey that involves intellectual learning and most of all spiritual growth.

SACRISTANS OF LITTLE THERESE

This important ministry trains girls to serve in the sacristy, and is open to all girls who have received their First Communion. It is not only a beautiful way for girls to participate in parish life, but also cultivates a deep, reverent understanding of the Mass. Participating girls will attend occasional trainings, and serve in the sacristy both before and after Mass.

SERRA CLUB (SUPPORT FOR VOCATIONS)

Meets the first and third Fridays of the month at 7am in the St. Agnes Center. Our mission is to foster and promote religious vocations in the Church. We do this through a ministry of prayer, awareness, affirmation, and support. Meetings include breakfast and a guest speaker.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL (NEIGHBORHOOD OUTREACH)

Our St. Vincent de Paul Society provides those in our parish boundaries with rental and utility assistance through home visits and follow up. None of us ever imagined we could do this! But all of us have been blessed beyond measure, our lives touched and changed by those we have helped.

SUPPER CLUB

Supper Club is a great way to get to know fellow parishioners. You will be paired with three other households every two months for dinner and socializing. Both couples and individuals are invited to sign up!

THE MARTHAS

The Marthas are a funeral hospitality group that helps with funeral luncheons. No matter how much time you have to donate, the Marthas would be grateful for your help. Men are also welcome to volunteer. Marthas help to setup, serve, and clean-up at funeral receptions.
