2009-2010 Religious Education Programs and Registration

The forms page has information about our upcoming RE programs and registration for the 2009-2010 school year in both English and Espanól.

Reorganizing the Religious Education Department

Every year for the past nine years, the Religious Education Department at Holy Trinity has grown. It is so encouraging to see so many children in the parish, and so many of them are participating every week in our Sunday and Wednesday catechism classes. For many years now, Nicoletta MacKenzie has been the Director of both the children and adult programs. Now her “day job,” as she calls it, is demanding even more of her time, and she has reluctantly decided to let go of the children’s program. She will still be in charge of Adult Education: in addition to organizing the R.C.I.A, where she team-teaches with me, she will help me expand the programs that we already have.

Health care was nationalized; education was free; women had the right to abortion; France, he proudly announced, was not a slave to religion: in his enlightened homeland, faith had nothing to do with politics.

First Friday Mass and Devotions on August 7th

On Friday, August 7th, beginning at 5:00 pm, we will pray the Holy Rosary and the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At 5:30 pm, we will have an ad orientem Mass in Latin (the readings and collects will be in English). I invite you to join me in the church each month as we consecrate our families to the loving heart of our Lord Jesus.

A Prayer Before Holy Mass

Jesus, You are about to come to us, your people, as the sacrifice which unites us to the Father and as the sacrament which feeds our poor, hungry souls. Jesus, give us the grace to never take this great gift for granted. As we receive You, good
Jesus, give us the grace to imitate You in offering all our joys and sufferings to the Father until we are safely with Him in Heaven forever and ever. Amen.
