Thank you to all parishioners who participated in this year’s butter braid sale. It was a huge success and brought in over $3,500 in profit. If you ordered butter braids from a Holy Trinity student or just directly from the school, thank you. A few school families deserve special recognition this year as they played a huge part in this year’s success. A huge thank you to Alexis Garcia and her family for selling 95 butter braids! Other mega-sellers were Meghan & Shannon Walker (42), Giannah Barela (42), Giselle & Vanessa Zamora (38), and Mia Lobato (33).

Righteous Rewards – Donations Needed

We are in need of donations for our Righteous Rewards program, which the school uses to reward good behavior by the students. First, we need more plastic grocery sacks for the students to use. Second, any donation of items that children might like would be appreciated. Little things are encouraged.

Four Holy Trinity Teachers Recognized for Their Service

As part of last week’s Catholic Schools Week celebration, four Holy Trinity teachers were recognized by the Office of Catholic Schools for their years of service to the Archdiocese of Denver. Congratulations and thank you to these teachers for their dedication to Catholic Education:

25 years: Donna Fehringer, Music Teacher

20 years: Marla Smith, Fifth Grade Teacher

5 years: Doris Bodkin, First Grade Teacher

5 years: Anthony Moreno, Computer Teacher

$1,000 Raised for Catholic Relief Services

As a special fundraiser on January 29th our school raised $1,009.53 to donate to Catholic Relief Services. This money will be used to support victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Thank you to all our school families for their efforts.

Open House Recap

Last Sunday’s Open House was our most successful yet. About 15 families visited our school and their interest level was remarkably high. Some were ready to enroll immediately, so we accepted their registrations and anticipate enrolling these families on March 1st when 2010-2011 registration begins for new families.

At this time, we anticipate full classes at every grade level from preschool through grade 6 for the 2010-2011 school year. Some of these classes already have waiting lists, because they are full this year and others are nearly full with new families having already turned in registration forms for next year.

All indications are that our kindergarten class for 2010-2011 is going to be full on March 1st, the day we enroll new families. If you are a parish family wanting a place in this class, you should contact the school immediately to register for a spot. After we enroll 25 students for this class, additional students will be put on a waiting list.

Serving Holy Trinity parish families is our priority. As demand for our school has grown the past few years it has become increasingly important for Holy Trinity parish families to register promptly to ensure their children a place in the school.

This upcoming year, our school will have only one kindergarten of no more than 25 students. Parish families wanting a spot in that class should act quickly when new parent registration begins Monday, March 1. In previous years, we have offered two kindergartens and served about 35 students, however this year there will be only one kindergarten class. Registered families of Holy Trinity Parish will have first priority for school placement on March 1. Families may turn in enrollment materials as early as February 15. They will be notified March 1, if they have been placed in a class or on the waiting list. After March 1, all students will be enrolled on a first-come, first serve basis in classes with less than 25 students enrolled.

Holy Trinity Catholic School can help you raise your child to be a faithful, educated citizen who lives in the path of Christ Jesus and works to serve others. Please consider our school for your child’s faith formation and education.

Holy Trinity Catholic School offers grades 1 through 8, full-day and half-day kindergarten, and preschool. Kindergarten is offered for students who turn 5 by October 1 and preschool for students that will be 4 years old by October 1. Preschool meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and parents can choose classes two or three days a week.
