School Resumes August 24th
The 2009-2010 school year starts Monday. It will be great to see all the students again and have so many opportunities to grow and learn together. As a Catholic school, our most important goals are religious formation, academic excellence, and strong expectations for behavior. I feel strongly that once again our school is in a great position to excel in every way this year.
Summer Update
Our new art teacher is Ms. Maria Deligio. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has previous experience teaching art in Denver Public Schools. I think the students and staff will enjoy her varied knowledge in different art forms.
The overflow remodel is having an impact on the school. The construction in the overflow started a few weeks ago and it may not be available to start the year. The students will have to eat lunch in their classrooms, but hopefully for only a few days. If the overflow is not available we will also have to temporarily relocate before and after school CARE, which serves about 40 students.
We have approximately 227 students registered. Class sizes at this time:
- Preschool: 15 (closed – waiting list)
- Kindergarten: 26 (closed – waiting list)
- First: 24
- Second: 27
- Third: 30 (closed – waiting list)
- Fourth: 21
- Fifth: 28
- Sixth: 17
- Seventh: 21
- Eighth: 18
